Stephanie J. Herlth Muth, '91
Mom. Navy spouse. Engineer. During her years at NCHS, Stephanie served as the Yearbook business manager and participated with the SGA and Drama Club (publicity). She was also a varsity cheerleader and played on the varsity tennis team. After graduating from NCHS in 1991, Stephanie earned a BS in Nuclear Engineering from the A. James Clark School of Engineering at the University of Maryland - College Park. She married a sailor in the Navy and has lived on both coasts, in the middle and overseas. Stephanie has two beautiful girls who are compassionate, culturally aware and always ready for the next adventure. Along the way, she earned a MS in Environmental Management and a graduate certificate in Homeland Security from University of Maryland - University College, and worked for a large public utility, a defense contractor and the federal government. Stephanie loves to travel, read and volunteer with various non-profit organizations.
The Scholarship Committee is comprised of 8 to 12 volunteers, all graduates of North County High School. The committee reviews the scholarship applications in April.
The 3 NCHS Alumni Scholarships are awarded at the school's Senior Awards Night each May.
Tyrone A. Brooks, '91
Ty was a member of the Knights football and baseball teams as well as the National Honor Society. He went on to earn a double major in Accounting and Marketing from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, College Park. Upon graduation, Ty spent 11 years with the Atlanta Braves organization, starting as a Baseball Operations Trainee and ultimately becoming their Director of Baseball Administration. For the next three years, Ty was a Professional Scout for the Cleveland Indians and in 2010, joined the Pittsburgh Pirates as the Director of Baseball Operations. Ty joined Major League Baseball in January 2016 and now serves as the Senior Director for the Front Office & Field Staff Diversity Pipeline Program.
Keisha R. Dotson, '91
Keisha was elected Class President for all 3 years at NCHS. She participated in many organizations including Yearbook, Multi-ethnic Club, SGA and Spirit Club. She was also a princess on the Homecoming and Prom courts. Keisha attended Old Dominion University, earning a BS in Psychology and a MSEd in Counseling.
Kevin M. Lascola, '91
A talented saxophonist, Kevin was a member of the Knights marching, stage and concert bands. He was also a member of the National Honor Society, It’s Academic team, and Drama Club. Kevin was the Salutatorian of the Class of 1991 and went on to earn a BS in Electrical Engineering from the A. James Clark School of Engineering at the University of Maryland, College Park and a MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
Drake C. Yi, '91
Drake was a member of the Knights soccer and lacrosse teams and the National Honor Society. He went on to graduate as the Valedictorian of the Class of 1991. Drake graduated from the A. James Clark School of Engineering at the University of Maryland, College Park with a BS in Electrical Engineering.
Our finances are simple - we write three checks a year for three scholarships. Our only operating expense is $60/year for this website and we have a donor who covers it. The Executive Director and the Board of Directors all volunteer their time and efforts to minimize the operating costs and to maximize the amount of donations going directly to our scholarship recipients.
