Ladies and Gentlemen,
I wanted to let you know how grateful and honored I am to receive one of the inaugural scholarships given out by your organization. I have enjoyed my 4 years at NCHS so much and hate for it to end. I have learned alot as far as book knowledge, but more importantly I have been given a strong foundation for the next phase of my life.
My time at NC has provided me not only a great education, but has helped shape the person I am today. I have had the opportunity to learn the meaning of teamwork, friendship and diversity, as well as, courage and the importance of being humble. I will use your very generous scholarship to help me attend Stevenson University in the fall to begin my undergraduate work towards a degree in education, ultimately with a Masters degree in special education. I attribute this path to my career goals to the many wonderful teachers and mentors I have had at NCHS.
I would like to teach in Anne Arundel County some day, hopefully at Marley Glen Special Education School, and look forward to giving back what I have been given.
Again, Thank you very much,
Edward "Pat" Carey

Dear North County High School Scholarship Fund, Inc.,
It is my honor to be among the first North County Knights to receive the inaugural North County High School Alumni Scholarship. The funds donated by the NCHS alumni, family, friends, and local businesses are going to help me pursue a double major in Government and Politics and Economics at the University of Maryland, College Park. It means a lot to me to be awarded this money, but the source of this scholarship is even more meaningful. To be selected by members of the first graduating class of North County High School for this scholarship is an honor that cannot be assigned a monetary value.
I would also like to personally thank the Board of Directors: President Steven D. Wyatt, Treasurer Kevin Lascola, Secretary Keisha Dotson, Tyrone Brooks, and Drake Yi, as well as Executive Director Stephanie Herlth Muth for the time and dedication they volunteer to make this Fund all that it can be.
Although I have yet to graduate, I already feel like a welcome member of the North County High School Alumni family, and would like to become a donor to this Fund in future years to help more North County Knights ease the financial burden of post-secondary education. This award will assist in my cost for tuition, books, and room and board, and will help me make the most of the University of Maryland and what it has to offer.
Again I thank the North County Alumni Scholarship Fund, Inc. for the support you have given me as I begin a new chapter in my life.
